Silver is quoted at 3s 9|d. Sydnet, 25th June. Tho following aro the latest quotations for the principal silver mining shares : — Broken Hill Proprietary, i! 10 8s ; British. £2 4e ; Central, £5 10s ; South, £5 5s 6d ; Block 14, £6 6s : Block 10, .£l4 los ; Junctions, .£l l9s. Owing to the satisfactory development of the mine, the directors of Scotty's Company, of Coromandel, have decided to offer the first issue of reserved shares to the present shareholders. Fifteen, thousand of the shares have been .applied for out of a total of 20,000. Hobart, 25th June. Messrs. Shaw, Savill and Albion Co.'s Arawa,, arrived here from London via the Cape, at 3 o'clock this afternoon. She has 46 passengers for Australian ports, and 86 for New Zealand. On 28th May, Mr. Melhtußh, a second cabin passenger for Auckland, died from consumption, and was buried at sea. (Received Jnne 26. 10.55 a.m.) Melbourne, This Day.
