Serious loss of life has taken placo, and fifty persons aro known to have perished. Naples, 13th Juno. , A sovore earthquake was felt at tho baso of Mount Vesuvius, and the. eruption of tho, mountain is increasing. Madrid, 13th June. - Many shopkeepers in Madrid are closing' their places of business as' a protest against the proposed inoreaso of the note issue by the Government. Rome, 13th June. Tho Italian Government has consented to' a number of agriculturalists and experts in fruitgrowing emigrating to Northern Queensland, and it is expocted that about 350 seleotod at Piedmont and Lornbardy by an' agent despatched from London by Sir James' Garrißkj Ag6nt s General fot Queensland, will leave for Brisbano towards the cild df tho month. '
