The Queensland Shearers.
PROBABLE END OF THE STRIKE. [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received June 13, 11.30 a.m.) Brisbane, This Day. Tho Strike Committeo is obtaining -the opinion of tho men as to whether they should declare the striko at an end. A number of Unionist shearing camps favour this course. The Strike Committee acknowledge they havo been repulsed, but not defeated. The men will probably resume work in a few days. The master printers have resolved to reduce tho wages paid their employe's to the rates paid previous to 1888, when they were raised under pressure of the Typographical Society. Disputes in Neiv Zealand. Auckland, 12th June.' The Trades and Labour Council, in reply to a letter from tho Employers' Association, passed the following resolution, which still delays the formation of the proposed Board of Conciliation : — That the ballot of Unions proves unsatisfactory to the formation of a Board of Conciliation on the basis proposed in the rules, but that this Counoil is prepared to meet tho Employers' Association with freah proposals for establishing a Board of Conciliation ; at the samo time intimating the desirableness of awaiting further development of the Labour Bills now before Parliament prior to taking final action.
