CREMATION. TO THE EDITOR.
Sir— Having an intense defire to see,* before I am called upon to put off this mortal coil, the institution of cremation in our fair land, I am greatly pleased to see its introduction so ably and forcibly urged in your columns. From time to time I have taken occasion to ascertain the opinions of my friends and acquaintance! on the tnbjeot, and have in eVery instance reoeived a declaration in favour of cremation, and I have therefore oome to belitve that tho desire for it is more general than.
any one has nny idea of, and feel sure that Were it poafliblo to tako a vote of the people of this oity for and against, tho result would be suoh that tho City Counoil would not hesitate to provido the now cemetery at Karbri with a orematory. If orematiop in this colony is legal— as lam assuming Jt is —is there any means bf ascertaining clearly tlio pUblib opinion on tho matter, which ia brie of thn doepest interost to the whole boinmnnity ?
