JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS AT TARANAKI.
[Bt Telegraph. I iunitld press association. i New Plymouth, This Dat. At the Taranaki Jubilee Athletio Sports yesterday over cix thousand persons were present. The Agricultural Society held a show yoaterday, which was well attended. Seventeen hundred ohildren were feasted on the racecourse, and the evening's festivities oonoluded with a grand display of fireworks in the recreation grounds To-diy the Jubilee races commence The Exhibition continues to attraot large numbers of visitors. Copoertß are held every evening, and the building is lighted by eleotrio light. The prodnoe and grain show takes place to day. The English Opera Company (.lay "Patienoo" at tho Alexandia Hall to-night. 1 he weathor continues gloriously fine, and the town is crowded with visitors.
