WELLINGTON v. CANTERBURY. The following is the continuation of our report of the bsoond match whioh was played yesterday between the representative teams of Wellington and Canterbury :— Wellington, with 107 rune to make to win, sent in Salmon (who took Wynyard's plaoe in the team) and B. Blaoklook. Salmon took the first over from M'Mnrray, and tipped the last ball into Labatt' s hands, but waa not held. Blaoklook scored a couple off T. D. Harman, and waa shortly afterwards oaught by Kolleaton. s—l—2. Drydon knocked up 11 with three triplets and a two, and was then bowled by M'Murray. 17 - 2—ll. Niven went in, and theu the score ran rapidly up to 40, both men making hits for 4. At 46 Salmon was clean bowled by Wilding. 46—3—13. Taylor, who replaoed him, soon lost Niven, who rotired before M'Murray. 48—4—13. Moorhouse was bowled by M'Mnrray the first ball. 48-5-0 A. Biacklook contribu'ed 15, and was then oanjrht and bowled by Wilding. 75-6—15. Taylor was oaught by Ogier at the wickets when the aoore stood at 84 and Frith took his place. _ The batsmen now began hitting with some vigour, and 90 soon showed up. At 98 Labatt replaced Wilding with the leather. A run was scored off his first ball and this and a bye brought up the century amidst applause. Wellington now required only seven runs to win, and these were obtained in a very short time, both batemen hitting everything sent down to them. The winning hit was made by Frith, amidst applanFe.
