Mr. LOUGHREY then moved that a dele* Rato from the Legislative Counoil should be omitted. This was lost by 43 to 20. Mr. MARCHANT desired that the delegates seat should make it olear that the colony did not intend to join the Federal coiiHtitution at present, but bis motion to that offeot was lost by 48 to 25. Mr. PERCEVAL'S motion for the appointment of two delegates from tho House and one from the Legislative Counoil was then put and oarried on\he voices. The COLONIAL BECBETARY movod that tho dologates bo appointed by ballot. Mr. HEDDON proposed as an amendment that tho Colonial Seoretnry and Sir George Uroy should bo the representatives of the House. The COLONIAL SECRETARY said Sir George Grey hud on two or threo oocasions, when asked to aot as dolegate, refused to do B). Mr. TAYLOR said Sir Georga would not ro as nominoe of the Government, but he would if ohosen go by the voioe of Parliament. The Hon. Mr. BALLANCE, in answer to Mr. Fisher, said that owing to his deoided views against federation, he would deoline to be a delegate. The motion in favour of the ballot was lost by 33 to 28. Mr. SEYMOUR moved that the seleotion of the delegates be left to the Government. Mr. BROWN characterised this as a deliberate attempt to boyoott Sir George Grey, but was called to order by the Spoakor. Mr. SEYMOUR'S amendment was lost by 32 to 35. The motion for the appointment of Sir George Grey and tho Colonial Seoretary was then agreed to. Tho evening sitting was wholly oooupied with tho disousslon of the labour troubles
