ARRIVAL OF THE R.M.S. TONGARIRO.
Tbe N.Z.B. Co.'i RMS Tonirariro, Capt Bone, arrived ia harbour ihortly after after midnight. She left Plymouth on the 26th July, at 1.30 pm, having 163 passengers, 210 bags of mails, and a lirge quantity of cargo on board, and reached Teneriffs at 4.A3 am am on the 8Iat ; left nt 2.7 pm, had fresh head winds for teveral dayi, and in lat 6 14 S. strong head wind* and sea were met with, which increased to moderate gales during tho 13th and 1 1th August ; Capetown was reached at B.S pm on the 10th, and left again at 6 o'clook next morning ; severe weather was encountered after leaving the Cape, until within two days of Ilobart, which wan rtaohed at 7.38 am on Thursday last : sailed at 7.15 same night, and arrived as above. The u«.ual amusement* were held, and were much enjoyed by the passongen. Her officers are tha same as on her lait visit to this port with tho exception of the surgeon, Mr R. H. F. I tooth. M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. She brought the following passengers :— For Wellington : Saloon— Messn F. Nathan and H. Beauchamp ; seoond saloon — Messrs E. Brooke and J. Evans: steerage— Misses Hawthorne (2). M'Dermott, Ellis and Foote, Mesdames Hawthorne, Ellis and Smith, Messrs Hawthorne. M'JDermott, Power la), Kills (3), Young (1). Fowdon, Sayco, Clements, Watson, Simpson (2), M'Cormack, Coney, Macgulre and Fisher. For other ports : Saloon— Mr and Mrs A. M'Donald and boy, Mrs and Miss Johnston, Messrs C. Govett and T. Dlxon ; second saloon— Misses Oellard, Wiseman, Blakcaly, Chivers, WatIlia and Dunn (8), Mesdamea Dunn, Carter, Smith, Potersen, Bramlay and family, Blakesley, Murray, Lonargan. Chamberlain, Potts, Page and family, Messrs Pitcher, Pago (4), Dunn, Bramley, Murray, Blakesley, Carter, Lonargan, Chamberlain and Potts; 93 steerage
