The Colonial Treasurer stated in the House of Assembly thiß afternoon that for the first four months of tbe year a snrplus of .£128,000 was shown. Mr. Simpson, a distant relative of the lato Mr. David Berry, the millionaire, has lodged a caveat against probate being granted to Mr. John Hay, on the ground that at the time of making his will the testator was not in a sound state of mind. Under the deceased's will the Coolangatta estate was left to Mr. Hay. Brisbane, Ist May. The Premier has asked Sir Henry Normnn, Governor of Queensland, to request Admiral Lord Scott to thoroughly survey Torro3 Strait, as it is fearei there may be other unknown rocks thore.
