The Export of Flax.

[Bt Txlxgbaph.j [united priss association.] Auckland, 30th July. The New Zealand Herald learns on good uithority that large orders for New Zealand lax bare during the past few days been jabled over from America to Auckland at prices which an regarded as most satisfactory to the producers. It is unfortunate that the winter season is now on, because it will be impossible to fill all the orders promptly in consequence of the inability }f the mill-owners to dry the flax quickly, but it is surprising to find how much is steadily coming forward from the conntry Jistricts in spite of the wet weather. The Dalifornian mail boats have beep trading flax no a good market in San Francisco for some montha past, and the next outward boat will iake at least 300 tons more. The market in ;he United Stateß appears to be steadily ixpanding, and will keep on increasing as ihormium tenax becomes better known, ieveral thousands of men employed in cut;ing and dressing flax would have been out >f employment thia winter but for the denand in America.
