Maxwell Campbell, at present residing at Christuhuroh, MujorGeneral retired, for a pocket hand-warmer, to be called "'lho Kjro Pockec Handwarmer"; James BsilJnntyno llannay, of Dumbarton, chemical oimineer, for improvements in apparatus lor tho application and supply of chlorine emplojod in extracting gold from ore* ; Arthur Hart Bowman, ot London, jowollor and silversmith, for improvements in tea and coffee pota and similar vessels; Walter Brown, of Wellington, engineer, for improvements in flaxstrippers for dressing Now Zealand flax; Millard Johnson, of St. Kilda, analytical chemist, Willium Eridimjton Field, of same place, analytical chemist, and Joseph Samuel llceuian, of St. Kilda, engineer and electrician, for improvemonts in amalgams and method of applying tho tamo, to be called " Johns n, Field, and l-ieeman's Patent Amalgamating Process;" Edmund Barker, ot Auckland, commission agent, for an improvement in connection with smoking- pipes, cigar - tnbes, &0., to be called " Barkor's Nicotine Catohor ; " Samuel Hodgson, of Massai-busetts, woollen manufacturer, for v. method of and apparatns for dyeing, scouring, or washing ; Th 'mas Alva Edison, of New Jersey, iuventor, for improvements in methods of and apparatus for effecting tho separation of metals trom their oros ; Hiram iStovotiH Maxim, of London, mechanical engineer, for improvements in and relating to apparatus for •oarburetting gas ; Koboct Cockerell, of Invercargill, agricultural implemont maker, for tho adjustable flanged Buoker-frame for double-action ciroular-made forco-pumpa; John Wardo, of Melbourne, journalist, and Joseph Snowball, of South Melbourno, merchant for an improvement in the art if typographic printing, whoreby the sotting or composing ot typo is avoided ; Wm. Halos Tumor, of Stafford, England, oartuenwaro manufaotur. r, for improvements in or relating to no3ebaga.
