He had chloroform against the advice of Dr. Cleghorn, who operated. A Maori girl named Maria Munn, eight years of age, was burned to death at Waiapu on Monday. Carelessness was shown on the part of her parents, but no inquiry has been held. Auckland, 10th May. J.
