This Day. (Before Mr. H. W. Eobinßon, E.M.) DRUNKENNESS. One first offender, charged with this offence, was discharged with a caution, and ' Eliza Wilson, alias Martin, who had been previously before the Court, was fined 10s, .••-it ii the alternative ol 21 hours' imprioonmunt. ( .'•LLU'jiD RO\O OBSTRUCTION. The adjourned charges brought by Mr. A. G. Johnson, Inspector of Hackney Carriages, against William Hill and William Crawford,
drivers of Mosers. Cobb k Co. 'a omnibugaes, who were aooused of having unduly obstruoted Manners-stroet with thoir vehicles on the ovoning of the 11th of December, wore hoard. The defendants, for whom Mr! m l ? a PP° are d. pleaded Not Guilty. His Worship, after hearing tho statements of aevorol witnesses on both sides, dismissed both informations, being of opinion that tho vohiclo3 were not standing for a longer time than was necessary to take up passengors who came out of tho opora. THE WEIGHTS AND MEASUREB ACT. Thomns Nidd, and Henry Innis were charged at tho instanco of the Inspector of Woights and Measures with having had in thoir possession unstamped measures. In oach oaso tho Court imposed fines of 5s with 7s costs. MAINTENANCE. A chargo against David Thornton, who was summoned at the instance of his wifo with having failed to provide her with adoquato moans ot support, was dismissed on tho ovidonco adduoou. In tho adjourned coso against Jno. Taylor Marshall who was charged with having neglected to comply with a maintenance ordor provionsly made by tho Court, the matter was further adjourned until the 18th inst., His Worship intimating that if the dofendant did not mako a payment in the moantimo, or good causo shown, he would mako an order for imprisonment against him. NEIGHBOURLY MISUNDERSTANDINGS. A series of oaeoß came before tho Court, tho result of an apparent misunderstanding amongst soveral residents of Haining-stroot. In tho first instanco, Elizabeth Manning was charged with having used insulting languago towards Kato Molloy on the 20th December. Following tho hearing of this, complaints of assault botwoon Kate Molloy and Annio Noolan, alias Wells, woro heard. His Worship, after taking a quantity of evidence, fined the defendant Mrs. Noolan 10s, with 9h costH, with tho attornativo of 48 hourn' iinprisonmunt, and dismissed tho cross chargo against Mrs. Molloy. In tho cano of Mrs. Manning his Worship ordered her to onlor into her own recognizance in a sum of £5 to konp the peauo for one month, and also to pay tho oOßts of tho case. Mr. Bunny appoarod for Mrs. Molloy in all tho vases. ALLECIED AHBAULT. Tho Court dismisaod a ohargo of assault which had boon proforrod against Honry Sullivan, liceneeo of tho National Hotel, by Aliuo Maokendriok, tho complainant not putting in au appearance
