Dunedin, 3rd January. The first of the season's wool Bales was held to-day, when some of the brokers sold. There was tho largest gathering ever Been at any wool sale hold here, including many new to this market, and comprising representatives of fat'nglißh and American manufacturers. There was spirited competition, although bidding was somewhat irregular, and prices ruled Id to l}d higher than at the corresponding period of last year. Fine half-breds in light condition met with special favour. Greasy crossbred ranged from 7Jd to lljd ; greasy half-bred, from BJd to lOjtd ; greasy merino, from 8d to 10} d; greasy piocea, from of d to 7jd ; greasy locks, from 2*d to 51d. London, Ist Jannary.
