The Mayoralty Election.
ME. DUTHIE RETURNED UNOPPOSED. The time for receiving nominations for the Mayoralty of the city for the ensuing year olosed at neon to-day. At that hour Mr. Amea, the Returning Officer, announced that the only nomination received was that of Air. John Dnthio, who was proposed by Mr. George Denton and Mr. John Anderson. He therefore declared Mr. John Duthia duly elected. Mr. Gale, as chairman of Mr. Duthie'a Committee, returned thanks on behalf of the Mayor elrot. The proceedings closed with a vote of thanks to the Returning Officer, proposed by Mr. Haybittle, and carried by acolamation. There were only a few people present.
