[Bt Txubobafh.l ix7kitxd pbisb association.! CHRIBTCHURCH, 19th Norember. A largely-attended meeting took plaoe in the Oddfellows' Hall to-night, oonTened by Mr. G. W. Ell, who for many yews has carried on litigation against Harper and Co., solioitort, to hear a statement of the treat, ment he has reoerred from the Official Assignee and Begistrar of the Supreme ■ Court Mr. Verrall, M.H.E. for Ashley, ' presided. Mr. £11 made a long tx parte ' statement, charging the officials in question i with unduly favouring his opponents ; and ' the meeting passed resolutions asking for a public enquiry into the matter, and for 1 getting up a petition to the Governor to « remore the Begistrar and Official Assignee. i The request from the Chairman for persons ' to oome forward who were willing to act ox ; a committee to get up the petition was not i at all numerously responded to. 1
