(Our Ovon Correspondent.) Palmebston North, 29th October. Tho first ton of this season's cheese made at the Longburn factory was sent to Wellington to-day. The Lawn Tenniß Club open their season on Saturday next. Mr. Robinson has been appointed secretary. Messrs. Hill and Poole a tender tor working the totalisator at the Manawatu races this season has been accepted. At the District Court, on 7th November, E. Jewell, E. Cossey, and L. Gurney come up for publio examination, and Winiata, Pataka, and Arthur Kirk apply for their discharge. The ceremony of christening the Palmerston manual fire engine will be made a speoial feature on the evening of 9th November. Mrs. D. H. Maoarthur will perform the ceremony. "Bough ok Rats."
