RAILWAY ACCIDENT NEAR SYDNEY.
TWO TRAINS COLLIDE IN A FOG. LIST OP THK INJURED. I UNITED' PRB6S ASSOCIATION. | ,-v Sydney, 28lh October. A goods train, while watering at the Fish River tanks this morning:, was dashed into by a second goods train. Attached to the first train was a passenger carriage containing several passengers and railway employe's. This -carriage was completely smashed, and many of the occupants received injury. .Howard, , a carpenter, had his ribs broken and his lungs affected, and a man named Wishey sustained serious injury to his head, both men being 1 in a dangerous condition. Mr: and Mrs. Spiers, AJessrs. Stevens, Copmbes, Ttiley and, George received severe but not serious injury. • It is explained that the' accident occurred owing to the first train being short of water, and stopping to re-fill the boilers. The weather at the time was foggy, and the leading train was not observed by the driver of the second train until too late to prevent an accident.
