A Quintet of Auckland Bankrupts. [BY TELEGRAPH.]

| UNITED PKBBB ASSOCIATION, | Auckland, Bth July. G. Aiokin (ohemUt), G, Fraser (land agent), A. Kidd (hotelkeeper), G. Fraser (ironfonnder), and H. Campbell (solicitor) lodged petitions yesterday to be adjudged bankrupts. Their failure is not due to business difficulties, but to the non-success of a syndicate in whioh they engaged some years ago for the purohase of a blook of land at Ellerslie. The Bank of New South Wales obtained judgment against them a few days ago in respeot to money lont to the syndicate, with the result that the five gentlemen named have filed petitions of insolvency.
