Meeting of Creditors.
-^- A meeting of the creditors of Philip A. Rive, draper, was held this afternoon, the Official Assignee in the chair. The following creditors were represented :— Mr. W. H. Smith (Bing, Harris & Co.), Mr. Harris (D. Clarkson & Sons), Mr. Siggins (Edwards, Bennett & Co.), Mr. D. J. Nathan (Joseph E. Nathan & Co.), Mr. James Smith (Turnbull, Smith & Co.) The Offioial Assignee reported that he had postponed the opening of tenders for the stock for a week in order to allow Mr. Kirkcaldie, who would be here next week, and who would probably be a tenderer, to be present, and also to enable the stock sheeta to be completed. Mr. Kirkcaldie was the representative of Mrs. Lowater, from whom Mr. Eive had purchased the estate. On the motion of Mr. Harris, segondod by Mr. Nathan, it was decided td allow the'" debtor to retain his furniture and personal offeots. The Official Assignee stated that he was glad to say that the book debts were ooming in very satisfactorily, and he hoped that the debtor's estimate would be realised. Mr. Edward C. Hall, on behalf of Mr. Kirkcaldie, asked that the tenders should not he opened until that gentleman arrived from Australia on the '28th inst. The Official Assignee deolined to further extend tho date for opening the tenders, and Mr. Hall undertook to oible to Mr. Kirkonldie on the subject. On the motion of Mr. Harris, seconded by Mr. Siggins, it was decided that as the Offioial Assignee will be absent on the West Coast next Monday, Messrs. Smith and Nathan should approve the bills of the suoer3Bful tenderer. Th,e Official Assignee stated that he intended to allow the debtor | .£5 a week during the time he was assisting with the stock. This was all the business, and the meeting terminated.
