THE NEW ZEALAND COMMISSIONERS'. Commissioners for the representation of New Zealand at tho Centennial International Exhibition in Melbourne next year have been appointed as follows :— His Excellency the Governor (President), Sir James Hector (Vice-Presjdent), tbe Hon. T. W. Hislop, Colonial Secretary, tbe Hon. G. M. WaterhoußO, M.L.C.. the Mayor of Wellington, Dr. Newman, M.H.R., and Mestrs. W. H. Levin, G. E. Tolhurst, W. bced, W. Cable, and C. J. Toxward; Mr. Charles C»H"a to be aeoretary. The first meeting of the Commission was held at the Museum yesterday afternoon, the Governor presiding, when it was decided to apply for 8000 ft pf space,, and request the people of the polony to.fprward exhibits of raw proiucfn, skilled .industries, &c. Information was received from Melbourne to, the effect that the general reception of articles in the Exhibition. Buildings will commence on the., lst Mayj 1888, and no articles will be admitted after the 15th July, 1888. Thp Executive Qom^ mJßsioners will publish an official catalogue. Motive powor will be supplied ,to,suitablo exhibits free at tbe „ discretion of the fixeontiv» Coipmisiioner.s, and it is further intended, that space shall ba afiorded for .the production pf interesting objects by manual labour. An important feature of the Exhibition will be the wool shows, of which two will Be held, the one of wool of 1887 clip, and the subsequent one of 1888 clip, the two shows to be judged separately. Awards will be made 1 for exhibits as follows : —Division A, merino woo), washed, comprising- 5 sections) Division B, merino wool, " greasy, 7 sections; Division O, long wool, washed, G sections jDivinion D, long wool, greasy, 8 sections. 1 The International" Grand Champion Prize- will be awarded" to 'tho best exhibit of not less than six fleeces of fine wool, either washed -of unwashed. Woolgrowers of all nations art specially invited to compete for this prize; Division E, scoured wool, four' sections j Division F, Angora hair or mohair. All exhibits must be from grass-ted sheep, eioepting those competing for the grand inter' national prize. The Exhibition will be open in the evening as well as during the dayj Awards will consist of gold, silver, and bronze medals, and certificates of honourable mention, together with a special report" of the jurors on the subject of the award,

A certificate will accompany eaoh medal. Tho Centennial Exhibition is anticipated to p-ove the largest and most niropssfnl affair of tho kind ever carried out in the Australasian colonies.
