The Volunteers.
The P Battery qf Artillery and tho Garrison Band will not parade fq'r inspection at the Volunteer Drillshed thia evening, 4S. previously announced, as the hall is required for a boxing match. An inspection of the Wellington Naval Artillery will tako place at the Volunteer Drillshed to-morrow evening. The Kaiwarra Rifles were inspected at Kaiwarra hut evening by Lieut. Davis. In consequenoe of the small muster, the inclemency of the weather preventing the Johnsonville contingent from attending, tbe election of a lieutenant, vice the late Mr. White, was deferred. A meeting of garrison officers is to be held shortly to make arrangements for a military tournament on the Prince of Wales' Birth day. An inspection of the City Rifles and the Guards was mode at the Volunteer Drill,shed hwt evening by Lieut.-Colonel Butts. The Guards mustered 40, under tfeptain Hamerton and Liouts. Coogan and MackinI tosh, and the City Rifle* 42, under Cagtain Collini and Liout. Clark Aftor the inspection tho corps wore handod" over to Captain Hamerton, who put them throughbattalion ' drill. The oorps was handled remarkably woll considering that it wu Captaiu Hamerton's first attempt at anything of the kind.
