An enquiry into the charges proferrod against Lieut.-Colonel Mahon is proceeding to-day before Colonol Lyon, tho officer commanding the volunteers in the district. The charges includo one of making disparaging remarks against Liont. Martelli at a public house bar, and also publishing private letters from Captain M'Donald and Lieuts. Palmer and Martolli in broach of regulations. Tho proceedings are private.
