Sir Patrick Jennings, Premier of NowSouth Wales, in reply to Mr. Gillies' pro.po&al, considers .£20,000 inadequate as a joint contribution by the colonies to the proposed Imperial Institute. He recommends that .£30,000 or .£40,000 should be subscribed. The South Australian Government has expressed its inability to increase its proportion of the JE20.000 proposed by Mr. Gillies. The Victorian Government suggest that municipalities should contribute to the Institute. Sydney, This Day, A communication from Sir Robert Stout to Mr. Sutter, Postmaster-General, has been published, in which the New Zealand Premier states that his Government hopes to come to a decision this week regarding the Australian - New Zealand cable question.
