RESIGNATION OF COMMISSIONER HENDERSON. THE NEW GERMAN PROTECTORATES OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED. [UTOTBB'B TBLBOBAW.I (Reco'ved Fobruary 23, 2 p.m.) London, 22nd Fobruary. The Committee which was appointed, under the Chairmanship of Mr. Chudere, to enquire into the circumstances surrounding the recent riots in the West End, has sent in a report urging that a full enquiry be mode into the management of the Metropolitan Police Force. In consequence of this report Sir Edmund Henderson, X.C.8., Commissioner of Polioe, has tendered his resignation of that office. Bbhun, 22nd February. It is announced that Germany has declared a protectorate over the Marshall Brown and Providence Groups of Islands in the North Pacific The German Government have officially informed the British Foreign Office of the assumption of the protectorate.
