IN pursuance of "The Regulation of Elections Act, 1881," I, James Ames, Returning|Officer for the Electoral District of Thorndon, do hereby give notice that, by virtue of a writ bearing date the 18th day of April, 1884, under the hand of the Clerk of the Writs, an Election will be held for the return of one qualified person to serve as member for the said Electoral District ; and that the Nomination of Candidates will take place at the Volunteer Drillshed, Maginnity - street, Reclaimed Land, at noon on the sth day of May, 1884 ; and that the poll, if necessary, will be taken at the polling-place of the said district on the 13th day of May, 1884.
