Wellington, 13th February, 1884. STATUE TO THE LATESISTEEDOBA. AT a Town Meeting, convened and preBided over by his Worship the Mayor (B. Beebeo, Esq.), on Monday, the 18th inst., in the Walsall Temperance Hall, it was proposed by Mr. Samuel Wilkinson (Town Clerk),"seconded by Mr. James Slater, supported by Messrs. S. Cox and T. Marlow, and unanimously resolved : — " That, in the opinion of this meeting, representing all classes of the community within the Borough of Walsall, the life, labours, and self-devotion of the lato Sister Dora onght to be commemorated by the erection of a Statue of such a character as would best keep freßh the remembrance of the pure aims, and tho unselfish and untiring labours that dispensed health, blessing, and comfort to thousands of afflicted persons ; the fund for which to be laised by the subHoriptions, and the Statue to be the property of all classos." A Committee, consisting of all Clergymen and Ministers of religion in the town, willing to aot together with a number of gentlemen and representatives of the operative classes, was appointed to collect subscriptions and take all necessary steps for giving effeot to the decision of the meeting. ***** As showing the world-wide interest taken in the memory of our departed saint, we extraot the following from last Saturday's Standard, where it appeared under the brief but expressive heading of " Sister Dora" : — Steps are being taken to raise a fund for the ereotion of a statue in tho town of Walsall to the memory of the lato Sister Dora. The inhabitants of the town have not been unmindful of the olaima this noble woman has upon their grateful recollection, .as immediately after her death they raised a fund, whioh was applied to placing a memorial window in their parish chnrch, a portrait in the board-room of their Cottage Hospital, and in forming a small endowment, the interest of which is used in sending patients to Convalescent Homes. The subsequent publication of "Sister Dora's Life" has spread the history of her labours, not only all over England, but in our colonies and America : and in consequence a strong feeling has been expressed that there has not yet been a sufficiently publio memorial of Sister Dora, and that what is really wanted is a statue erected in the most pnblio place in the town. Anyone desirous of contributing can send their donations to the Secretary of the Walsall Cottage Hospital, who is also Seoretary of the Statue Fund ; to the Eev. E. M. FitzGerald, St. Paul's Vicarago, Walsall, England ; or to Mr. Wm. C. FitzGorald, Wellington. WINTER HOSIERY.
