A portion of the cargo of frozen mutton ex steamship Victory was 6old to-day at 5Jd to 6d per pound. The London Chartered Bank of Australia has declared a dividend for the past halfyear at the rate of 5 per cent, per annum, and carries £25,000 to the reserve. Mr. Gladstone is improving in health. His recovery is, however, slow. Roice, 22nd March. It haa transpired that the cardinals are discussing the expediency of the departure of the Pope from Rome. Paeis, 22nd March. Despatches from Tonquin state that the French have captured Thinguyen, and without loss. The Chinese, however, suffered heavily.
