Wanganui, This Dat. James Redmond and Alexander Douglas Boyd, charged w-ta a^sulting Captain Pope, on board the steamer 'J vi, on Sunday last, were brought befoie the Resident Magistrate to-day. Boyd was sentenced to a fortnight's imprisonment, Redmond being discharged. Hay block, This Dat. No treasurer has been appointed by the Pelorus Road Board under the Lioen=ing Act. consequently there has been no officer to receive tho license money, and no license can issue after to day. 1 herefore certificates become void, and all houses in the district will be oloacd for twelve months.
