Auckland, 18th October. Mr. Eichard Monk has been solicited by a section of the electors to stand for Auokland North. Christchurch, 18th October. Mr. W. H. Pilliet, journalist, has announced himself a candidate for Stanmoro. This Dat. Mr. W. P. Cowlishaw addressed the electors of Staumore last night, and received a vote of thanks. Mr. W. F. Pear3on addressed the Ashley electors on Monday, and received a vote of confidence. Kaikoura, 18th October. Mr. M'Hwraith, of Waiau, was to-day announoed as a candidate for Cheviot. The contest will probably bo a good one.
