THE NATIVE DIFFICULTY. REPORTED INTERFERENCE WITH SETTLERS.
The Government have received a telegram to-day to the effect that the natives have been interfering with some settlers near Cape Egmont, pulling down their fenc«s, and ordering them off the land, with threats of turning them off unless they went promptly. '1 he Government have telegraphed directing full enquiresr es to be made into the alleged circumstances, and a full report to be Bent forthwith.
