San FbAKCIsco, 27th September. In the north and north-eastern part of the State of Michigan, the ruin caused by tho recent lorest firos was especially widespread. The villages of Anderson, Richmondville, and Charleston, in San'illaC County, Were wiped out, and Port Hope, Tyhe, and Verona m.llß and Uadar, in Huron County, wholly or partially shared the same fate* Many lives wero lost, and much stock was destroyed. Relief is asked tor the destitute communities. The country from Saginaw to St. Ciair ia deserted. It is believed nearly 1 000 persons perished in tho flames,
