ARREST OF A CANDIDATE.

Garrard, the labour agitator, has been arrested for sending in a false claim for insertion in an electoral roll Since hiB candidature for A.v ckland North he has been busy placing name 3 of persona on the rolls who were entitled to vote bat not regittered. It is understood that similar proceeding's are pending against other persons, who are alleged to be gnilty of similar malpractices. This Dat. Garrard, the agitator, was brought before the Magistrate's Court this morning, charged with personating, and was remanded.
