DESTRUCTIVE FIRE AT KUMARA.

A disastrous fire occurred hore at 3 o'clock this morning. It commenced in Morris' Ross Hotel, Seddon-streot, which waB burned down, also the premises of Davies, tailor, Holmes, tentmaker, and Babor, fruiterer, and another small shop. The origin of the firo is unknown at present. There are no insurances on any of tho buildings. The fire was confined to the houses burnt only by great exertions on tho part of tho firemen and public. A heavy galo was blowing at the time. Most of the sufferers caved nothing. The European and Bank Hotels were severely scorched, and only saved with great difficulty- _____^______
