NAPIER.
23rd May. The inquest on Mrs. M'Lennan was commenced tbis afternoon, and seems likely to be protracted until midnight. At the request of Mr. Lascelles, who is M'Letman's solicitor, the Press wera excluded, Lascelles stating that his client would be prejudiced by the publication of the evidence. The Napier Fire Brigade- talk of resigning in a body, in consequence of the treatment they are receiving from the Corporation.
