21st May. A boy about eight years of age, named Joseph Traynor, whose parents reside at Fielding;, was drowned in the river this afternoon. He had been paddling with two other boys ia a canoe, and accidentally fell overboard. 22nd May. The nominations for the Wanganui Steeplechase will close to-morrow evening.
