WRITTEN TENDERS will be received for cutting Totara Sleepers, with the rin/it of cutting other timber, out of a Government reserve of 470 acres, more or less, in the Man&watu District, to which the Government are now constructing a branch railway from the main line, about 155 chains long, for the purposes of this contract. General conditions, specifications, &0., may be Been at the Public Works Offices, Auckland, Poxton, Wan^anui, and Wellington, tehere a'so tenders are to be lodged until noon of Saturday, the 21st June, 1879, accompanied by a cheque on some bank in the town where the tender is ' lodged ; such oheqne to be specially marked by a banker as good for one month, and to be in favor of the Receiver-General's Deposit Account only, and not to bearer or order. The land in this reserve, after . the above contract is finished, will revert to the Feilding Corporation, who will then have power to deal with it as with their other lands. The attention of intending contractors is specially drawn to this circumstance, as they might thus be enabled to acquire and settle on the land after the completion of their contract.
