THE CHRISTCHURCH UNEMPLOYED. [Per Press Agency.] Christchurch, 19th May.
An adjourned meeting of the unemployed was held this evening in front of the Post Office. Resolutions were read, which are to be forwarded to the Minister of Public Works, asking: that cercain authorised public works might be proceeded with. The Mayor, who was present, said he would bring the matter before tho City Council, and see if arraDgemonta could be made between it and the Sydenham Council to find temporary employment for some of tho men. It was also resolved to requisition the Mayor to call a public meeting of the unemployed in one of the lial.s in the city.
