AUCKLAND. 19th May.

An accident happened at Whangaroa to a man named Lamb Kiddson, who was shooting game. He was holding his gun by the muzzle and the trigger caught in a root, ditchargiag the contents intj his arm, mating a wound Bin long and 4in wide, penetrating to the bone. Sergeant-Major Tolly, of Opaki, was attacked with epilepsy yesterday, and is not expected to recover. Tiie Hiaemoa is expected to leave for Wellington to-morrow morning. Sir G. Grey probably remains iv Auckland some time longer. Kummer and Co.'s store was broken into yesterday and several cases of goods removed. The police are engaged pursuing the supposed burglars. A strong opera company will open at the theatre this week with the comic opera " The Sorcerer." The company consists of Signor Riccardo, baritone ; Mr. Crane, tenor ; and about thirty amateurs. Should the venture prove a success the full company will probably go through New Zealand. The ladies are all Auckland residents, including Misses Leaf and Teague. 20th May. The Belle Brandon, which has arrived Irora Marshall Group, reports continued fighting; at the Island of Majura. Several native men and women have been killed. Sir George Grey leaves to-morrow morning for Wellington. Mr. Sheehan probably will accompany him.
