The Hawke's- Bay County Council decided to-day to vote £500 towards the erection of a new hWpital, besides a vote of £250 for maintenance for the year. At the Resident Magistrate's Court to-day the charges of conspiracy against J. G. Kinross, F. Button, and G. B Worgan were discharged, there being no appoaranc; for the prosecution On the part of the prosecution it is allegeS that the reason the cab^s were not proceeded with was that Worgan, who ia id' ferisbn at Wanganui. could not be producedThey applied to the Crown to produce Wdi Igan, 1 but of course they were refused ; they then applied to a Judge in Wellington for habeas, but that also was refused, and now they .say that the cases stand over until Wor-gin-can be produced.
