HTDNiY, 2nd April. The new torpedo boat, constructed for the defence of the Sydney harbor, has undergone a trial of speed, and succeeded fn attaining a velocity of over 17 mile* an hour. The revenue returns for the quarter ended 31st March show that the total amount of revenue received was £1,100,000, exhibiting a decrease of £78,000 as compared with the corresponding quarter of 1878. The decrease is caused solely by the stoppage of land sales, the land revenue having declined to the extent of over £101,000 in the quarter. All other sources of revenue show an increase. The total expenditure for the quarter amounted to ! £918,000. The net balance now in hand It £3,913,000. [KBCTB&'S TBLBQRAMB.I Melbourne, Sad April.
