! At the Regatta to-day, in the Champion Yacht Race, only the Magic and the Waitangi, the latter an Auckland yacht, started. The Magic went away with a good lead, wbich she steadily increased, ultimately beating the Waitangi by 12 minutes. In the Champion Sculling Race, after a good start, and wbile Laycock was leading strongly, Trickett slightly fouled a passing boat. He then wavered, and stopped for a moment, the result being that Laycock won easily by eight lengths. But for this mishap the race would have been a very hot one towards the finish, and the result doubtful. Just before tbe finish Laycock stopped, and waved bis hat triumphantly to his opponent. In the cricket match— Lord Harris 1 English Eleven v. New South Wales Fifteen— Ulyett made 15; Absolom, 22; Hornby, 20; and Lucas, 15— four wickets falling for 106 runs. 28th January. Trickett has challenged Laycock to another sculling race, for £200 a-side and the Championship. Flour has been sold in Adelaide at £10 7s 6d.
