DUNEDIN. 17th January.
The Tablet says that Mr. Stout's speech can have only one offset on tha Roman Catholics, namely, to confirm them in the conviction that nothing but determined persevering agitation can gain for them what justico and equity demand in the matter oi education. Thomas, the Victorian wrestler, has been presented with a purse of seventy sovereigns by his admirers. The Synod has appointed a Committee to draw up a report expressing its mind on the education question.
