BALCLUTHA. 6th January.
When Mr. McMillan, Railway Inspector here, was, about two o'clock to-day, going to Invercargill with an engine and trucks for flax for river bank protection, and when about to stop, he was met by Proudfoot's engine, which caused a slight collision. The buffers of the engine were smashed, and one man was slightly hurt. Proudfoot, Greig, and othara were travelling by the engine, and narrowly ! escaped injury.
