(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) DUNEDIN. 7th January.
At the Supreme Court this morning, Margaret Barrett, charged with stealing from a dwelling, was sentenced to five years, and Robert Angus, for larceny as a bailee, to five years' penal servitude; Hyam Metz, for forgery, was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment; James Morgan, for forgery, twelve months. Mr. Stout addresses his constituents on Friday evening. A Chinaman suffering from leprosy, at Tuapeka, committed suicide this morning.
