The repairs to the Rangitata Bridge are sufficiently advanced to perto.it the resumption of traffic by light engines, travelling at a slow pace. In a few days more the ordinary traffic will be able to be resumed. The return of prisoners in the district gaols on 31st December are as follows : — Lyttletoo, 100; Addington, 45; Timaru, 22.
