A grand concert under the auspices of the Telegraph Soating and Cricket Clubs is to be held at the Athenaeum Hall on Monday evening, 16th December. His Excellency the Governor has expressed his intention of being present, if he be in Wellington on that date, and as some of our best amateurs have promised their assistance we anticipate a great success. Mr. Parker, conductor of the Choral Society, bas kindly undertaken the musical direction of the concert, and intends producing some part music of a high class. In thus drawing attention to the proposed entertainment/ we desire to express our sympathy with the object, which is to increase the funds of the clubs composed of the members of the department. The officers of the Wellington Telegraph Station on every occasion have proved themselves obliging and ready to go out of their way to serve the public, and we trust the position of their departmental institutions will be considerably improved by the proposed concert, so that they may have a favorable start for the ensuing season. The ladies and gentlemen who have been invitsd to assist are reminded of the practice to be held at St. Paul's School, Sydney-street, on Monday evening next, at 8 o'clock.

The land fronts the main road, and is situate between the properties of Mr. Charles Johnston and Mr. Lancaster. .Donald's tea-gardens, the Public Hall, and Karori Church are also in close proximity. The auctioneers call the special attention of the public to thiß rare chance of acquiring freehold property on easy terms in the healthy and rapidly growing district of Karori, which, when connected with the populous part of the City of Wellington by the new road through Polhill'B Gully, they observe, must become the most important of our suburbs. The terms are very easy, and it is expected that the Bale will excite brisk competition. In another column our readers will find the preliminary advertisement of the sale of some of the finest villa residences now obtainable near the city. These are subdivisions of the well-known estate of Paul Kingdon, at Karori. As they are close to the town, they should attract the attention of all who desire to have a country residence at a short distance from their business house. The universality of the use of UdoIiPHO WoiiPß's Schiedam Abomatio Schnapps is readily accounted for. It is a natural reluctance on the part of persons, especially invalids, to venture on any untried remedy, and it is only when one is talked about, discussed, commented on, and referred to, that people seek to tost its virtues. TJdoiiPho Wolfe's Schiedam; Axiomatic Schnapps has been almost a household word in the mouths of the thousands who have been restored or relieved by itß use, and it is certainly proverbial for the wonderful cures it has effected since its introduction. — TAdvt.l
