Public Works Office, Wellington, 15th August, 1878. SEPARATE WRITTEN TENDERS will U be received at this office up to NOON on MONDAY, the 9fch September, 1878, for the above contracts. They must be addressed to the Hon. the Minister for Public Works, Wellington, and marked outside "Tender for Rolling Stock." The work will be let in five separate contracts, which must be separtely tendered for accordingly. Plans and specifications may be seen at the Public Works Offices, Auckland, Wanganui, Christchurch, Dunedin, New Plymouth, and Wellington, and at the Bailway Manager's Office, Napier. Telegraphic tenders, similarly addressed and marked, will be received if presented at any Telegraph Office by Noon of the same date, provided that written tenders in due form are lodged at District or Resident Engineer's Office by the same hour, and ' accompanied by a cheque on some bank in the town where the tender is lodged; such cheque to be specially marked by a banker as good for twenty-one days, and to be in favor of the Receiver-General's Deposit Account only, and not to bearer or order. THIS is to notify, that LEONARD STOWE, of Wellington, Clerk of the Legislative Council, di I, oa the second day of May last, deposit at the office of the Patent Officer, in tde Co'onial Secretary's Office, in Wellington, a Specification or Instrument in writing under his hand and seal, particularly describing and ascertaining the nature of tho said Invention, and in what manner the same is to be performed ; and that by reason of such deposit the said invention is protected and secured to him exclusively for tlie term of six calendar months thence next ensuing. ?And I do further notify that the said Leonard Stowe has given notice in writing at my office of his intention to proceed with his application for Letters Patent for the said Invention, and that I have appointed Friday, the twenty-second day of November next, at eleven o'clock in tlie forenoon, at my office, to hear and consider the said application and all objections thereto ; and Ido hereby require all persons having an interest in opposing the grant of such letters Patent to leave, on or before the eighteenth day of November next at my office in Wellington pirticulars in writing of their objections to the said application, otherwise they will be precluded from urging the same.
