Arrived, 4.45 p.m.— Clatid Hamilton, from Wellington. Sailed, 4 p.m.— Wanaka, for Port Chalmers. Port Ohalmbbs. 18th June. Arrived— Ship J. A. Brown, 118 days from Boston. Shortly after leaving she encountered hoavy easterly gales, and threw overboard 15,000 slates. She experienced a succession of heavy gales, with sea, during the voyage. Go*- Ahead left Wanganui at 10 pan. on Monday, and arrived here at 7 p.m. yesterday. She sails for Castlepoint and Napier this afternoon. The s.s. Wellington left Nelson at 11 a.m. yesterday, called at D'Urville Island, and arrived at Picton at 8.30 p.m. ; left again at midnight, and arrived here at 0.30 this morning. Reports the schooner Columbia lying at anchor in Tory Channel, also the ketch Elizabeth in Picton for Wellington. The Wellington returns to Picton and Nelson to-morrow evening. The 8.6. Stormbird left Wanganui at midnight yesterday, and arrived here at 2.;i0 this afternoon. Spoke the barque Victoria, from Newcastle to this port, off Man a Island. She returns ' to Wanganui to-morrow. The barque Carlotta, Captain Hill, reports leaving Newcastle on the 6th inst.with westerly winds, which accompanied her to the Straits, when a southerly breeze sprung up, and brought her into port at 6 p.m. yesterday. She brings a cargo of coals for Captain Williams. The schooner Zior left Oainaru at 4 p.m. on Monday, and arrived here at 0 o'clock this morning. Captain Bell reports the schooner Martha Beid loading for Wellington. ° The s.s, Kiwi Bailed for the East Coast lost evening. • The s.s. Taupo, for Auckland via the East Coast; sailed shortly after noon to-day. The B.s. Hinemoa, which left Gisbome at 5 p.m. yesterday for Wellington, may be looked for early to-morrow morning.
