EASTER MONDAY AMUSEMENTS.
« Monday next being Easter Monday, will I c observed as a general holiday in town. AH the banks, Government and insurance offices, &c, will be closed, as well as most of the pla<*r» of business. The N.Z.S.S. Co. will run the s.s. Jane Douglas on a fishing excursion to the Heads, should sufficient inducement offer, leaving the Queen's Wharf at 0 30. The fare will bo 3s. The Wellington Athletic Club will hold a sports meeting on tho Basin Reserve. The Hibernian Society will hold athletic sports at the Lower Hutt. The programme appears in our advertising columns. The Grevtowm Athletic Club will hold sports nt that *plare, and the programme also is published in our advertising columns. The Tradesmen's Athletic CJub will hold a select ball at the Princess Theatre, Tory-street. Tho Lower Hutt Brass Band will hold a Hoiree at the Odd Follows' Hall, Lower Hutt, in the evening. At the Theatre Royal a popular programme will be presented, and the Royal Italian Opera Company will give a concert nt the Odd Fellows' Hall. The s.s. Moa is also advertised to leave the Queen's Wharf at 10 o'clock for n fishing and pleasure excursion. •
